Any remedies for a poor little 22 month old with a load of phlegm caught in her chest and throat? She's lost her voice and needs a good hard cough to clear her throat, but it causes a bit of distress when she tries. Her breathing sounds fine, but big breaths, like when she cries, are quite raspy. She had a cold last week, and seems over the runny nose bit, but this is making her miserable again.

can you make some steam?
run the shower and sit her on your knee on the loo for a while
have you got any vicks vapour rub to put on her chest?

Thanks purepurple. I'll give her a hot bath and put some rub on her chest, (we don't havevicks, but I'm sure there's the baby version somewhere) hopefully that'll help.

keep her off milk, chocolate and all dairy as these increase the phlegm. There will be a chemist open locally...there has to be legally.
