Can you have a cough at the moment without it being flu?

Ds1 has started coughing this evening. He seems Ok, no temp or cold, just a cough. He has been out in the rain a fair bit lately and I've felt a bit coldy the last couple of days.

Just wondering really, if this is just a summer cough or I ought to be getting in supplies. We're not in a hotspot as far as I know - don't know anyone with SF etc.

Also he's back at school on Monday, typical.

Does SF start with just a cough?

There are tonnes of viruses going around, as usual.
Flu starts very suddenly, with a high temp, so probably just the usual lurgy.
Doncha love the start of school term?

Thanks Nicky.
I spend the whole autumn term dreading the inevitable colds and/or vom things from school, then once I am complacent again in March it suddenly strikes. Tis misery waiting!
