DD's nursery have just rung, saying that DD has a temp of 39, but seems well in herself, apart from having a bit of a runny nose.

It's apparently only her body that's hot, not her head - anyone know if this means something sinister?

Thanks!

Yeah, she has clothes on . If you are sweating it will always show more on the body than on the head, that's why you are supposed to feel the back of the neck to assess temperature. Or in some cases of shock the blood supply is reduced to extremities so the body feels warm while hands and feet and sometimes the face can feel cold. This also happens in some cases of menigitis so worth keeping an eye on.

I assume by now you have her home and she's okay but if she does still feel bad, I'd contact your GP.

Best of luck
