Those with experience of eczema could you please tell me if this sounds like eczema, as I'm really not sure it is.

were you swimming in hot water there, like jacuzzis and that? because there is a nasty rash you can get from dirty jacuzzis

yes, the pattern is very like scabies isn't it! I have had it, and didn't get a rash like the one in your link but I was wondering if she'd had a v nasty reaction to the scabies.

(if you were in hot tubs, the rash is called folliculitis if you want to look it up)

yes do take her back if it hasn't cleared up, poor lamb. Sounds very nasty and uncomfortable. My eczema has flared up now (and often does when it's hot) but I think it's a bit unusual if she's never had it before (and for it to be so widespread iyswim).

I must admit, when I had scabies, it did look like scabies and it was unbelievably itchy. I almost cried with the itchiness. Was horrid.

I hope she feels better soon.

With scabies you itch on the palms of your hands.

The rash pictured does not look like scabies to me.

Not easy to tell from the pictures but it does not look like exczema to me. DD's exczema is always worse in the folds of her knees, creases of her elbows, armpits and her bottom - I've not seen it spread out like this but I am not an HCP or skin-guru!

I do hope she gets better soon. Have you tried cool baths w. a few drops of kamomile solution? Sometimes it's the only thing that helps DD.

DS2 has excema - it doesn't usually look like this, but occasionally it does. However, my dad suddenly had a rash aged around 75 which lasted for a few weeks, and which looked and sounded just like your dds. The doc treated it as excema, although he had never had it before or since. It didn't respond well to treatment but disappeared just as mysteriously as it had appeared after a few weeks.

Try smothering it in Sudocream. It worked when ds2 had a mysterious non-excema rash, and it is recommended for excema too, so it can't hurt.

Sorry if this is a bit obvious but have you changed your washing powder recently or given her any different foods?

I would def take her back for a second opinion - it is hard to tell from the picture on your profile. My whole family suffers from eczema, in particular my neice and my dd2 have suffered very badly. Saying that, eczema can effect different people very differently. My niece has never had it on her face, or on torso, just terribly on hands, feet, ankles, arms, wrists and behind knees. Whereas my dd2 gets in all over her face, neck, torso and back, arms legs, the lot really ! Her skin is always very dry and crusty and flaky, and her redness apears first in red spotty blotches, which she tears at. Summer makes it worse.
I hope your dd feels better soon, poor thing. My ds has never had any eczema, lucky boy, but I have taken him to doctors on a few occasions with weird spots, rashes. The doctor described them as allergic reactions, but said there was no way of knowing what to, ie could be a spider he ate, or a leaf in the garden etc!

This is going to be an odd question but does the rash feel hot? Can you get a better close up pic, try turning off the flash. It looks like something I get, which is an alergy to sweat/getting flustered!

I sounds like something I get as an allergic reaction but the picture you linked too doesn't look like mine IYSWIM? But the picture on your profile does look like mine. Does the one of your DC look exactly like that link? Mine is more of a blotchy rash.
