cough medicne -whats the age on the bottle now ?

my ds has a bad cough and im wondering if cough medicne has an age limit on it now ?
he is nearly 3

I think it's 6 but my advice would be to save your money as cough medicine doesn't work! Give him plenty of fluids. I hate it when my kids get coughs, I can cope with tummy bugs etc but coughing fits are awful - hope he gets better soon.

if its a dry cough you can give any medicine with glycerol which is 3 months+ but for chesty cough and cough mixtures with decongestants have changed to 6yrs+

Cough medicines really don't work. Little sips of iced water sometimes helps, or warm water with some home in it. Calpol if he's very feverish, steamy bathroom if his throat's really dry and lots of distraction.

Coughs are horrid - hope he's better soon.
