I suppose we should.

No idea what he has. He's had a cold/runny nose for the last week or so. Now has a fever and red spots round his neck, all over his bum, and all over his legs. No idea what he has.

Any idea?

I wonder if there is an outbreak of something in West London?

Oh, the birthday party is his birthday party tomorrow. I'm afraid no one will come to it if he has just been sick. I don't want the poor guy to have a party that no oe comes to.

Poor love. Could you postpone it? I would tell everyone you may have to postpone it but you will let them know at the last minute. It could go away overnight.

Personally, I would postpone. It doesn't sound as though he's feeling particuarly well at the moment and probably wouldn't enjoy it as much as normal.

If you do go ahead, you need to see the doctor to check that he has nothing contagious and inform all guests that he's got a rash but the doctor's said he's not contagious - that way there's no big shock for them when they arrive and you have done your utmost to keep people informed.

Actually, either way, he sounds as though he should see a doctor - it may be a post viral rash or it may be something else (no idea what though).
