She has a few spots and has been unwell for a couple of days, although when I say unwell I mean she has a bit of a temperature and is off her food and is a bit more whinny than normal.

I am 30+6 today, I have had chicken pox as a child, do I need to do anything. DH was all for me dramatically moving out to my mums for a few days Don't know what he would do with DD though as he still has to work.

I'm pretty sure there is no issue providing you have already had chicken pox. Possibly worth putting a call into your midwife just to double check though

Tillyscoutsmum · 14/05/2009 08:28

Oh - and your dd has already been at her most contagious if the spots have appeared so not much point in doing anything now....

Thanks Tilly, I did suspect that if DD has the chicken pox then she is at her most contagious before the spots appear.

Dh is kinda freaking out though , not like him actually.

It should be fine. I was pg when dd had chicken pox and my mum was insistent that I'd never had it myself, cue lots of panicing. It was fine, my midwife said they kept a sample fo your bloodtests for just this kind of thing, they tested the same morning and called me to confirm I had immunity. Might be worth you doing the same just for some peace of mind

Thanks I will give my MW call just to see what she says.

Okay I think it is a false alarm re the chicken pox, DD has been having really bad D&V from this morning. She is very sleepy and has already had 3 naps. Her temperature is up (cant find the thermometer to check ), the spots that were there this morning have gone.

Should I let her sleep as much as she wants to, she is still drinking loads of water and has managed to keep a banana down.
