ds 16mths tripped and headbutted the banister quite hard wot do i do?

normally if there not sleepy etc and crying then id let it go and just keep an eye on them. He only cried for a few minutes didnt see it happen just heard it and it sounded hard!Already bruising and slight indentation of the caorner of the banister.
