I have already posted about this - sorry for starting another thread but it seems to be getting worse

My 11 mo daughter is now on day 3 of not eating, she is really full of cold and sleeping a lot and she's now had 3 bouts of diarrhea in the last 15 hours. She's also pretty clingy and listless, not her usual bouncing self. She doesn't have a temperature though and isn't feverish. I am offering her lots of bottles to keep her hydrated and letting her sleep as much as she wants but does anyone think this is serious enough for me to take her to the doctors?

TBH my doctor's surgery is rubbish and the only reason I am holding off going is because getting an appointment for today would mean sitting around in the waiting room for at least an hour, probably only to be told to keep her fluids up and give her plenty of rest , which is what I am doing anyway. Is there anything else I should be doing?

I'm not a HCP but it sounds like you're doing everything you can. As long as you're keeping an eye out for other signs (temperature, rashes, any other bowel changes like weird colour, traces of blood etc) and offering her as much fluid as you can, plus offering her food when you have it (her favourites, or course!) just to catch the moment she shows interest again, and of course making sure she's not getting dehydrated, I don't see what good a trip to the docs is going to do either of you. Sounds like a great excuse for a day on the sofa.

If you want to be doubley sure, you could always call NHS direct.

as long as she stays well hydrated and is taking bottles then I think you are fine
if she
stops drinking bottles
develops a temp of above 39
develops a rash
generally looks worse or becomes more listless
then I would take her
hope she feels better soon
