loss of milk tooth

my son has just lost a milk molar and it looks like another tooth is growing underneath. The only thing is it is not a tooth but soft gum that looks like the shape of a tooth.could this just be the shape of how the gum was before the tooth fell out as the old tooth was hollow. should i take him to the dentist

No. Just leave it and see what happens. Ds's teeth were not replaced right away with his adult ones, they need time to come through now there's space. The dentist will check when he's due for a check up.
