hi
my daughter (aged 4) woke up a week and a half ago being sick. she was unable to keep anything down not even water until the saturday just gone. we took her to the out of hours docs on thursday evening who told us to just wait it out. At that point she had no temp or anything she was just being sick and obviously was weak and tired as she hadnt eaten etc for so long.
on saturday and sundau she seemed a bit better she had stopped being sick and she was even starting to walk around and take an interest in toys etc although she was still sleepy we thought she was just recovering.
then monday she started with a temperature she has had it ever since and again she is just lying down, not weel and now she is making moaning noises and keep screaming for a drink out of the blue. she says that she doesnt have any pains anywhere but im not sure - her moaning sounds like she does to me.
her temp last night was fluctation between 38 and 40 degrees C. and even with calpol wasnt coming down below about 38.6 which was the lowest i took it.
I am taking her back to the doctors today my husband says there is no point because they will just tell me to give her calpol (it is a trek up to our doctors and we have no car so i think he is thinking it will make her upset getting her there) but i think she needs to be seen afetr this time and with a temp that isnt brought down by calpol?
does anyone have any clues what this is? is it the right thing to do taking her up there?
