bluey/purple rash on baby

DS is hs and since friday has had this strange rash on his leg. It looks like a collection of little bruises about 1mm diameter in size (they are not bruises).

Went to A&E and saw paeditrician who took blood sample for testing came back negative.

As he isn't poorly with it we have been sent home as DR doesn't know what it is.

HAs anyone else seen this before or have any idea what it is?

I'm going to GP on Tuesday as I'm not happy about it.

yes, my daughter had this on her leg. she was quite well in herself and after taking her to hospital as it didn't blanche, they asked me to bring her back a few days later as they had a specialist from the children's hospital in that day. he looked at it and said he'd seen the same type of bruise-like rash before and it was simply a viral rash that would fade.

bit of an enigma but nothing serious.

good to rule out the obvious meningitis etc though.

no problem... my DD was about 6/7 months old at the time and it looked like a cluster of little bruises about 1mm in diameter. hope that's all it is, MLM.

My ds has these atm- purpura.
They seem to be post-viral and not too worrying as long as there are no other symptoms.
