seems well in between .. she is sleeping more in the day. and just out of sorts. had a random high temperature last thursday but was fine by friday.

doctor is lovely and won't be funny about me taking her with such vague symptoms

but am not sure ?

she had a bad chest a couple of weeks ago, and had steroids and then ABX.

that is all clear, but am wondering if it is some sort of post illness fatigue??

what do you all think?

she is 3.8, and usually a very energetic and feisty little thing

Call NHS direct, it sounds like she needs checking over again. They won't diagnose post viral fatigue without going over everything else that it could be first. It doesn't sound like this to be honest, she needs to see a doctor again. Sorry.

SlebMner · 29/03/2009 15:07

no, i know you are right, she is sleeping at the mo, DH should be home from work around 5, so i thikn i will get him to take her to the doctor on call. just feel like i need my own seat at the docs at the mo, since the new year, we have all been in !

It's the time of year I'm afraid, all the bugs wake up. She does need looking at though, she doesn't sound well to me.

I hope she's feeling better soon.

SlebMner · 29/03/2009 15:10

thanks

Hi lulu.

Pheebe · 29/03/2009 15:16

ds1 has had this recently. The random headaches and tummy pains lasted about a week then he had very crampy tum and occassional diarrhea (not frequent just runny) for about 3 days and now he's back to normal .... and I have it! Knocked him for six but he's back to normal now.

A trip to GPs can't hurt though

SlebMner · 29/03/2009 15:17

thanks pheebe. i am wondering whether to get he r some sort of tonic, she is finding it harder and harder to shake off these bugs and she is not a big eater.

she has an appointment in half an hour at the GP on call centre
she has spent pretty much 5 hours in bed this afternoon and was sleeping for a good stretch, which is not like her

Lots of non specific (especially viral) things can cause tummy ache if it leads to swollen glands. It is more of a tummy pain (often intermittent) rather than ache though.

SlebMner · 29/03/2009 19:37

yep, it is probably going to be something virally, but the pain is there for hours and she is clingy and wants her tummy rubbing for ages. hope it is not appendix related

There are a lot of funny viruses around this year. A friend's DD had it last week, whilst her sister and my friend had tonsilitis.

My DS2 has had some 2 similar strange viruses as well since Christmas although no so much a stomach problem, although he did have a tummy ache for a day or two.

However, these children are a bit older than your DD so I would get it checked out.

SlightlyMadScotland · 29/03/2009 19:39

Best get it checked though. Please report back (obviously!)

Niecie · 29/03/2009 19:59

I wonder if it is this. I wondered if DS2's viral thing was related to this as he had a cold before the tummy ache temp thing.

Just a thought but of course it is only a guess.

SlebMner · 29/03/2009 20:25

could be ,niecie . thanks

DH just got back from docs , they think it might be a bladder/urinary infection, so he has brought her back to drink some more fluids , as of course she could not produce a sample for the doc.

she is of course refusing all fluids

I hope she is feeling better.

SlebMner · 30/03/2009 13:15

thanks for asking

doc tested sample last night, it was clear, but asked me to take another sample to our regular GP today, which i have done

she slept until 8am which is good, but has crashed out for another sleep, she has not goen to pre school today

not complaining of tummy ache so much, but she is washed out

poor wee thing

scrooged · 30/03/2009 17:30

Pleased it's getting sorted

I hope she's on the mend very soon.

SlebMner · 01/04/2009 13:23

not heard back re urine test.

docs closed now until tomorrow

she is not herself, grumpy and v v tired, she has just gone for a sleep, if she is like this for another 48 hours , we are back to the docs.

something not quite right, but she is clearly not desperately ill

thanks for checking in x

bramblebooks · 01/04/2009 14:13

Poor little pudding. Have they tested for glucose in the urine? Hope she's soon on the mend. x

SlebMner · 01/04/2009 17:05

i am not sure, they just said they would test and get back to me. she has had another mammoth sleep today, had to wake her up to go and get DS. she would have slept another 30 minutes easily.

thanks

glad to report that DD is a whole lot better today, she started improving yesterday and is definitely a whole lot better today!!

quite relieved!

school breaks up today, so we can slob around over teh weekend and no getting up for early school runs , so she can regain her energy

Elibean · 03/04/2009 13:48

Hello Lulu! How did I miss this? So sorry our dd has been so unwell, how horrible for her, and for you

But v glad she's better, and congrats on your new title

LuluisgoingtobeanAunty · 04/04/2009 17:55

thank you elibean

thankfully, today she seems back to her old self. a feisty little diva once again took my dad round town and got a massive chocolate coin, a peppa pig DVD and 2 books, so can safely say she is firing on all cylinders
