Can't believe I'm asking this... is this teething?!

Ds (13 months) has one very red cheek that is warm to touch. He also has a runny eye and nostril on that cheek (his eye is running so much it is dripping off his chin). He's a bit grumpy and unsettled and his temp varies betweem 37.5 and 38.5.
Neither he nor dd has ever had these symptoms so I am guessing it's teething- any thoughts, anybody?

Could be or could be just a cold or a virus.

Really difficult to know isn't it? Totally understand your dilema.

Just keep up the calpol and keep an eye on him. If he gets worse then call the out of hours for advice. You can never be too cautious in my opinion.

Thanks. Nobody else has a cold but he could well be the first...
I know a few people with chickenpox so I hope this isn't it here now too!
Am going to take temp again shortly to see if calpol has brought it down then put him to bed. Fingers crossed!

I would ring Doctor's out of hours in case he has an eye infection.

His other eye has just started running as well. He's had a couple of colds that started with runny eyes so it could be that I think I'll wait until the morning and see how he is then- his eyes aren't sticky or gunky, just runny clear stuff.
Ds is in bed now (hopefully fast asleep) so hopefully he'll improve overnight. I'll check his temp again in a little while.
THanks for advice
