dd has been to gp this morning and he has given her ab's for a chest infection .

She has been ill since Sunday night but I thought it was a bug as she was sick . Last night her cough got really bad and she sounded ruttly in her sleep .

The gp said if she got worse I should take her to A&E for a chest x-ray .

She is up and down one minute really chatty then worn out she has asked for toast and has been drinking .

The coughing fits are bad I hate to see her like this .

I would just like some advice on anything I can do to make her more comfortable and what others experience of chest infections have been .

TIA.

Prop her bed up with housebricks/books/wood at the head end.

Hang a damp towel over the radiator to keep the air in her room moist.

If she develops a temp I'd be tempted to ring doc for advice (or if she already has a temp and it suddenly spikes)
