12 day old v snuffly and struggling to breathe when sleeping

ds2 has had what i think is a cold for a few days now. hecan breathe to feed but is not sleeping properly cos he can't clear his nose. have tried steam, raising the head of his bed (he sleeps in a baby hammock), snufflebabe, but nothing seems to work. any ideas??

you can get a nasal clear 'implement' that you put into the nose and suck out all of the rubbish, we have one but couldn't bring myself to use it! Or saline drops, but not sure how old they should be before you use them? Have you tried steam when he is feeding? I was recommended that by my HV.
