Hand foot & mouth - I've Googled and DS's symptoms are in a strange order.

OK, DS2 had a single spot on Wednesday and Thursday in the corner of his mouth and wanted to drink a lot of fluid.

Got him up this morning and there's about 5 red spots on his chin. Tipped him upside down to look in his mouth (he's stubborn)and there is one on his tongue.

He hasn't had any fever or have any spots on his hands or feet...yet. I read that these are the first signs of hand foot and mouth. Anyone else had this with their children?

DS1 had this when he was a baby too, so recognised it straight away today, but there's no crotchety baby...or is that to come?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Took a while for Dd's to make her grumpy last year. I think she got a few spots on her fingers(I'd never heard of HF&M until MN put me onto it). I then discovered her mouth full of ulcers(after I'd forcibly brushed her teethshe got grumpy then, but I thought it was the usual 'I don't want to have my teeth cleaned mum' thing. She got the spots mostly on her legs and buttocks, one or two between toes and fingers. It's a horrible thing.

Right, I feel a strip search when he wakes up. Poor lamb, he hates being made to do something.

Sorry, I can't remember at what point she got the fever, but she did.

It was trawling the internet that made me realise that they don't always get spots on their soles and palms. The GP said she had a coldsore virus(but he didn't see her after she'd got the spots on her legs and bottom)so only saw her mouth/lips/tongue.
