That's it really.

We've had 4 years of croup. All I can hear at the moment is cough cough cough (though he is asleep). Not croupy at this stage but am starting to feel stressed as this is how it always starts.

I know the drill, we've been through this so many times before. But never twice in 3 weeks....

Give me strength

Sorry your thread got left unanswered, I cannot imagine how stressy croup is, but for 4 years? Goodness me.

I am sure you have tried every single preventative measure ever, but thought I would bung in my only answer which is our plug in vapouriser that I have in DDs room pretty much the winter through. DD never had croup but I gave it to a friend of mine as her son had 3 lots in about 3 months and she said it helped.

Just wanted to know someone was thinking of you.

Thank you. It didn't turn nasty last night thank goodness. After about an hour of non-stop coughing he settled. But after 4 years and so many stays in hospital I was preparing myself for the worst.

He will grow out of it one day but in the meantime you are right about the stress.

Thanks for thinking of us

Do the docs know why it happens and how old he will be before he grows out of it?

In the meantime I would ensure your wine rack is never left empty!!

They say most children grow out of it by the time they're 5 - but poor DS hasn't ... yet...

He's still got a night-time cough but so far so good - he's not croupy at the moment. I can't have a drink really in case it does turn croupy and then we have a drive to our nearest A+E.

Thanks again X
