arrghhh! 2yo DS still dribbles. should I be worried?

2yo DS is perfectly fine and lovely but he still dribbles. His second set of molars haven't come through yet, so maybe it will stop when they do break through .

He doesn't dribble enough to make his clothes soggy or anything, but even so I never see his friends dribbling so he does stand out. His speech & eating are ok too. Any ideas?!

Hi, sorry no help here but will watch thread with interest as I have a very dribbly 19mo. None of his wee friends do this, and he is big for his age so this makes me even more conscious of it. Also I am fed up of putting bibs over his nice clothes! If I didn't he would soak his top. Hopefully it will all be over with when his teeth are fully 'through'.... can't wait for that day!

My 2.5yr old DS is a dribbler too. Up until a month or so ago he could soak a tshirt in a couple of hours. But like your DS his speech is fine, and his nursery do not seem concerned. He's been better in the last month since his back molars have come through, and also we've started making him gently aware that he needs to keep the dribble in and encouraging him to wipe his chin with a tissue etc, and that seems to be working.

Hi there, my 2 year old DS2 is a champion dribbler when teeth are coming through (as they are at the moment) and they seem to be taking a VERY long time to come through so maybe this is what your DS is doing. Like babypringle we encourage DS2 to wipe his chin to save it from getting sore but that is all. If your DS is fine I really wouldn't worry at all - he'll grow out of it (DS 1 did).....eventually!

thanks babypringle My DS goes to nursery too and they haven't mentioned it either. I wish his back teeth would hurry up. he has his first dentists appointment next week, maybe she will have some advice.

My ds2 dribbled till 3 yrs, and now doesn't at all. Still puts his hand in his mouth a lot tho at 6. Referred to ENT spec when little, they found nothing wrong, he talks all the time etc...
