how long after you can feel the tooth on the gums does it cut through?

ds is 18 weeks and been showing tething symptoms for the past 2 weeks. since a couple of days i can also feel something hard on his lower gum, its clearly diff from the one above. so it seems the tooth is right there. i can only feel it yet; cannot see it.

how long after this should i expect the tooth to cut through?

I'm afraid you may as well ask how long a piece of string is... could be days, or they can hang about for weeks.
