DD just 4.7 but I can see an adult tooth growing behind her baby teeth?

Isn't she a little young to be getting her second teeth??

She says it just cut the gum today and it's growing behind her front bottom teeth - sort of like a second row. Weird!

I thought this wouldn't start til she's about six??

I know of at least 2 children who lost their first teeth at just 5. There are always extremes at both ends.

DS had this, adult teeth came through behind the two front baby teeth at the bottom. I was worried that they would come through crooked, but the new teeth pushing through caused the old ones to fall out and they're now lovely and straight. He was nearly six, so it does seem at bit early, but teeth do vary a lot in when they arrive.

I didn't lose my last milk tooth til I was 22 so we must have both extremes in this family.

I was asking a similar question here not long ago - DD is 4.10 and doesn't have visible adult teeth coming through, but DOES have two wobbly teeth. She was 4.9 when I asked the question though, they're taking their time! She is utterly delighted but somewhat put out that 'Emily K has THREE wobbly teeth' - chances are (as they're a young class) that Emily K is even younger than DD. I'd expected it at more like 6 as well!

DD is one of the youngest ones in her class and reckons she's the first to have a grown up tooth.

She's immensely proud, can't wait to show her mates and has brushed it three times this morning
