is it safe to use aloe vera on a 17 week old?

Ds has really bad cradle cap. I'm not picking at his scalp, but he is developing some tiny areas that are so sore they're bleeding a bit. I can't bring myself to put something oily on an open sore, but I don't know what else to try

Have you tried olive oil as a first step, I used to put it on dd1 at night and rinse lightly in the morning, It definitely helped with the cradle cap.

Don't know about aloe vera tho' sorry.

I haven't any olive oil atm - forgot to order it with my groceries . Will sunflower oil do?

Thanks for the tip - I've put olive oil on him for 2 nights now and his little head is a lot less scabby

We had great success with shea nut butter from neal's yard. worked when the olive oil didn't seem to cut the mustard any more.
