Hi, my daughter woke up this morning with a really chesty cough. She was also sick twice walst coughing.
She's been in our bed all day and even refused Cbeebies. (she must be ill)
She also has a bit of a temperature. She dosn't seem to be coughing that much now, but then she is asleep.
Should I take her to the doctors today or see how she is tomorrow?
I don't drive and my husband has the day off tommorrow. My MIL has said she'll give me a lift there today, I just wanted to know if it was really nessesarry that she sees someone today. She won't be happy about getting up and dressed.

Phone NHS-direct if you're unsure, my hunch is no, but they will take you thru a checklist.

From what you have written I dont think it is something I would take my DD to the doctor for, but phone NHS direct or your GP surgery if you are worried.

Thanks, I'll give them a ring.
I think there's a lot of it going around at the moment. I don't want to waist the doctors time or disturb my daughter unnecessarily.
I do need to tell him that nursery have requested another hearing test, so I'll need to see him soon anyway.

my 4yo had a raging temp and chesty cough and lay around very unwell for 5 days. There are some nasty viruses around atm. Keep her warm and hydrated and monitor her in case you think sh develops an infection. Poor little thing, and poor you too

Thank you. I hope she is better for thursday, as she's going on an outing with the nursery to a sea life centre.
