Was called to school to pick him up as he had tummy ache. Has very runny diarrohea (sp??) now but wants peanut butter on toast.

I said he shouldn't but he said to ask Mumsnet!

Toast is good.

Isn't advice now not to restrict diet?

TotalChaos · 22/01/2009 12:36

I'ld let him - I reckon in this situation you crave what your body needs iyswim.

Bluestocking · 22/01/2009 12:37

I'm with TC.

saythatagain · 22/01/2009 12:38

Agree with Chaos and do that with my dd. The worst that can happen is he'll bring it back. But if he wants it, go ahead.

Geepers · 22/01/2009 12:38

I would.

When mine are poorly I let them choose when and how much to eat, unless vomitting was very recent.

Buda · 22/01/2009 12:40

Thanks all. Just looked on Wikipedia and the advise was not to do the BRAT diet. So we'll give it a go!

Agree with everyone else.

georgiemum · 22/01/2009 12:44

No problem there. I wouldn't put butter on it too (or is it only me that does that?)

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 22/01/2009 13:04

ha ha at him telling you to ask mumsnet, bless him.

hope he feels better soon.

Buda · 22/01/2009 13:10

Well it's done and so far so good.

TDWP - I know! He was sitting on the loo and told me what he wanted. I said I would check. He said 'go and check on-line' and then he said 'ask on Mumsnet'!!!!! (Do I spend too much time on here I wonder?

But peanut butter is butter

Buda · 22/01/2009 13:48

I know! Mind you my Aussie friend calls it peanut paste and she puts butter on too.

I'm feeling hungry!!

purpleduck · 22/01/2009 13:56

Oh no no
The proper way to have peanut butter toast is to puts loads of real butter on it, then a skiff of peanut butter on top.

It goes without saying that the toast must be toasted a medium color - not too light, and def not dark.

HSMM · 22/01/2009 14:15

No peanut butter is not butter ... it is peanuts. If you get decent stuff, it just has peanuts in it.

Buda · 22/01/2009 14:54

Agree purpleduck - and washed down with a nice hot strong cup of tea!
