Runny smelly nappies in 8 month old

My 8 month old DS has had runny (very) smelly nappies all day today (5 altogether, usually only does 1-2 poos a day)

He's off his (solid) food but drinking milk. He's hot, but not running an appreciable temperature...

He's OK within himself, but a bit grissly, but he has two (top) teeth just about to pop through and this is def. bothering him (drooling a lot etc)

Don't know whether to take him to the docs tomorow if it this is normal and will pass...

He hasn't eaten anything different / untoward...

Thanks - any advice is much appreciated.

Hi my ds 10months had something v.similar last week (off food but taking milk) so i just gave up trying and we had lots of cuddle time and just kept offering water as well as milk at meal times. he went to bed slept fine (late 9am!!) And was fine next day. a couple of days later i got a bout of dirohea(sp) i was also fine the next day!

dont worry and if not gone by tommorrow night i would go to docs following day.

Any sick? if not and teeth are bothering him i wouldnt hesitate to give my ds calpol(or cheapy supermarket alternative in my case!)

hth.
My ds has a new tooth now has 8!!just needed to tell someone!!

Thanks Hannahlouhoo!!

No sick at all.. I've given him a little calpol and he's (just) gone to sleep (took a while to settle) he's also had some teething gel (which obviously soothes him, cos he opens his mouth to let me rub it on his gums and he won't let me so much as think about giving him any food!)

8 teeth!!! My DS only has his two bottom ones at the mo, but I think we're going to see some more soon..

thanks ever so much.

HM

Hi ds any better?

Haribosmummy · 15/01/2009 12:52

He had a bad night, but then slept till 10am this morning! He seems brighter and just one (less runny) nappy this morning...

Still no more teeth though...

thanks,
