10yr old dd1 says when she's had a wee sometimes she feels like she does another "little one" in her pants

dd1 hasn't problems down below before (touch wood)but says that she actually feels like she's having another wee sometimes.could this be a uti? i wondered if this was a discharge thing....taking into consideration her age and everything.anyone in the know?

Get a sample checked - if it is a UTI you don't want to leave it.

does it sound like a uti though?

check her knickers - that should tell you if it is vaginal discharge or urine. Then take appropriate action.

sounds like she is not properly emptying her bladder.
Get her to lean forward on the loo when she is finisheand see if that puts pressure on her bladder to empty.
If she isn't emptying,she is more at risk of UTI so may be worth dropping a sample in to your GP.

Kids can get urine infections really easily, the urethra is extremely short and 'bugs' can invade quite quickly.
Worth getting a wee sample checked at docs.

It may simply be that she is not used to the additional vaginal discharge that may come with impending puberty. My dd does have continence problems, but I also find she sometimes thinks she's wet herself when it's normal discharge.
