when a doctor says 'if he goes off his feed bring him back in' exactly what do you class as off feed??

ds2 is 5 weeks old for a week has had blocked nose type thing. took to gp weds as he had awful cough and struggling to breathe. no temperature. gp said he has catarrh/mucus and justkeep doing what we were (steam etc) but if he got a fever or went off his feed take him back.well he fed at 11pm but only took 1oz, slept through till 7 where hes only taken 2oz and fallen asleep. this is first time hes slept through but has gone 6 hours at night before. he isnt yet in a routine apart from feeding roughly every 3 hours. i dont know what they class as off his feed. sometimes he'l only take 1oz and fall asleep so i dont know if this is him getting worse as hes ill or not. anyone?? he doesnt have a temp
