when we needed one my doctor lent us one! does the surgery not have one you could borrow?

they are all loaned out at present and he's told us that since we'll probably need one several times each winter we should consider getting our own

Have you been referred to a hospital asthma clinic? They should be able to organise one for you- seems mad you'd have to buy one, pay for maintenance etc. We currently used a Portaneb which is on permanent loan from hospital (DD has CF) but we're after an E-flow if possible as they neb meds so much faster. However the Portaneb is fine and easy to use/clean etc.

Good luck

Is there a charity that can help you? Someone once acme to my door collecting for a charity that helped to pay for chn to have a nebuliser at home. Can't remember the name though.
