DH is on the way to A&E with DS1 (3.9) and I am in bits - anyone there?

My wonderful georgious DS1 has fell out of bed and we think may have broken his collar bone

He has been screaming the house down for the last 40 mins even with both calpol and nurofen, so DH is taking him to A&E (I can not as I have had a couple of glasses of wine for the first time in months). I am staying with DS2.

A&E is 30 mins away and he was screaming as I strapped him in the car and calling out for me, as DH pulled away and I am in tears.

My poor little man.

Oh no poor DS, poor you

Did they explain why it did not show up the first time you took him to A&E?

poor lad - well done to a clever mum who knew it wasn't right!

Oh poor mite, it is hard for them to spot fractures when they're so young though, lucky they got it right this time around, echo the well done to you for spotting it wasn't right.

We have had yet another sleepless night - he has had about 9 hours over the last three nights. We are all shattered and tempers are frayed.

DH is still in bed - he deserves some sleep. My turn tomorrow

It is when the painkiller wears off that we have trouble, but the crying keeps waking his little brother (2.6), so we are all up

This happened to my boy. Hospital didn't pick it up at first. Said it could have been a green stick fracture. Anyway, when he fell off the sofa the following day, he definately fractured it... . (Was so waiting for health visitor to call)

He had to wear a sling for two weeks. (some hospitals don't give anything). I thought keeping a sling on a three year old would be like controlling a box of frogs but he actually wore it as i think it helped the discomfort. He looked so cute, bless him. Hope your boy get's better. Don't feel bad -that's boys for you!
