Did it at pre-school on Thu, looks terrible - as if I have fed him coke and choc since birth and he now has a rotten stump!
In reality it is rotated 90 degrees so you can just see the edge of it.
The dentist said it could go black, could turn back of it's own accord or could just stay like this until it falls out at 6ish.
Anyone else experienced this and what happened?
Poor little gum is all mashed.

well he was very miserable, didn't eat on Thu, eventually tried some rice pudding - having seen ds1 eating his - and ate it but cried on every mouthful .
Much better now though, swelling in gum has obviously eased. Ate a roast quite happily this evening so I don't think it is hurting.
Keeps feeling it with his tougue and asking when his tooth will turn round again.

My DS1 did something similar 2 summers ago and his tooth has been a bit wonky ever since (nowhere near right angles, mind you). The tooth is still white and "alive". Just a bit wonky.

His mouth was sore for several days though. I'll never forget the blood ...

ouch - hope yours are ok lapin.

Thanks scrambled, I actually didn't see any of the blood, my cm was picking him up from pre-school and I couldn't get back until 2 hours after it happened. Good to hear at least one story of the tooth staying in.

Gave them corn on the cob this evening without thinking, ds2 tried to eat it and just couldn't! I ended up taking the corn off for him. Wasn't hurting him, he just couldn't get them off.
