Can I give couh medivine AND Medised?? and then put vicks on feet under socks??

dd2 (3.8) is coughing like a smoker since last night
tryinbg to help her feel better

why would you put vicks on her feet?

check the ingredients.. i think it is paracetomal you have to be careful with... i would maybe phone a 24 hour chemist or something for advice

and why vicks on her feet. surely it would be better on her chest??

and some karvol or olbas oil on her pillow and prop the end of her bed up a little, to help all the mucous drain away

The Vick thing does work.

I would maybe give Caugh med or Medised not both.

Try the Vick on the feet.

I'd just use cough medicine and vicks on feet for a cough. Don't give Medised and cough medicine if the ingredients are the same. Paracetamol for eg in Medised iirc.

GPs say not to do the steam thing now but cold dry air, so taking her outside.

I wouldn't bother with the cough medicine, though for future reference I do find Tixylix Cough & Cold or Benylin Cough medicine effective. It has that Medised effect too.

I've heard about the vicks thing, not on MN. Worth a shot. It can't do any harm.

I posted on here about trying Vicks on the soles of my dcs feet.

It worked!! They were both coughing non stop and it really made a difference. One of them stopped completely and the other just had one 5 minute burst in middle of the night.

Really? Wow. Never heard of it before but will give it a go!
