dd1 is asthmatic, and when she gets a cold it makes her cough loads. i remembered a tip i read once about putting vapour rub on childrens feet to help ease with a cough.

and it worked.

but why?

dh thought i was mad doing it, so did dd1 lol.

Does it not work on her chest?

I can't see why the soles of th feet ake it ay better - but vapourub (on the chest/head/tissue/whatever) will act as a decongestant which can help prevent a cough.

yes, had been putting it on her cvhest neck and back as well, but the soles of the feet really did work.

either that or i slept through her coughing for 8 hours. and that never happens"

I put snufflebabe on dd2's tonight, probably not strong enough, but don't have any Vicks....worth a try!

Saw another thread on this veyr recently, think its in General Health? Something to do with it warming feet/circulation?!?

There is another thread on this somewhere as Eli said. I tried it on both DC's last night having read that thread and it did work. DS (age 1) has a v chesty cough but I only heard him coughing once before I went to bed - normally I hear him coughing several times during the evening.
