Very hot & upset baby 3 days after 2nd immunisations - is that OK?

DS had his 2nd jabs Monday and has been up since 5 this morning feeding then crying inconsolably. He never normaly cries, and has been most the day - we went to bed midday and he woke and cried alot (never does this - shuffles and snorts for food), he is v. hot but ear temp is 37.6, 2 lots of calpol. Not crying now but still hot - is it likely to be the jabs? Is he 'ok'? Sorry about typing, he is finally feeding decently!

Hi - my DS was the same after his secind jabs. Was the only time I resorted to driving him round in the car to get him to sleep as he was beyond hysterical.
Sounds like jabs but there are lots of nasty viral things about so if you are at all worried then ring your out of hours gp or NHS direct.

My DS2 reacted the worst on the second immunisations. It was pretty much like you describe = crying a lot, hot and uncomfortable. Just keep on the Calpol and cuddles and feeding, if he's interested. It should pass soon. However, DO call NHS Direct if your instinct says something wrong, like floppiness or greyness, not moving as much etc. Better to be safe than sorry. Hope he's back on track for the weekend!

My ds was a bit hot and out of sorts after his second jabs too. He was fine after about 5 days though.
It may be a cold or soemting too. Bloody winter, eh?

thanks - he is perkier now but had a four hour nap ysterday. Poor thing's just all hot

Hi Viva, just scrolling through posts as we all have a filthy cold - hope your ds is feeling much perkier - our DD was also poorly for about 4 days after 2nd immunisations - my question is what were the general experiences after the final jab - we have ours at the end of December.. thanks!

That one was fine for my DS ! It was the second that was worse by far.
