my dd is two weeks old. Her eye had a little infection (was stuck together) so i put in breastmilk for a day or two. it got better but now is back. can i continue with the breastmilk or do i need a gp?
(prefer to keep her away from public places still)...

She could have a blocked tear duct. It's very common in newborns.

My ds had it and I followed the advice here - just very gentle massage to clear the blockage - and it cleared up pretty fast.

I tried to breastmilk and massaging as pania has suggested but it didn't work so I had to use drops

I would def try the massage first though. My HV looked at DS2's eye and rang through for a prescription for him, I didnt have to leave the house, just got someone to collect it for me
