Hi, we have noticed that on and off my daughter, who is two and a half, has really smelly privates. The thing is, they don't smell of wee and it smells....well....adult. I am not sure how to describe it but its a definite 'female' smell.... since she is the only little girl that I have ever had to change I have no idea whether its normal. Her dad has even noticed and asked the other day 'can she be ovulating ?' (and he was only semi joking). She is obviously bathed morning and night so its not that she's unclean. I am not sure what to do. Its not all the time either Any help appreciated ! x

Hi Beth13, we are having exactly the same thing with our DD. She is 2.9 and sometimes the smell is quite strong, and DP mentions it and I feel embarrassed for her (Silly I know). She is bathed every evening, and to be honest the smell is only noticed when we strip her off about 6ish down to knicks and vest to have a run around.
Anyway, hopefully someone will be able to reasure us that this is normal etc.

BUMP.

As far as I am aware this is perfectly normal and my DD aged 3.3 has exactly the same type of smell I think you are talking about. One thing to be careful of is that you aren't overwashing though or using scented bubble baths as this can aggravate their delicate little bottoms and make the problem worse. Hope this helps!

I agree with the over washing. Morning and evening really isn't necessary.
