I was washing the dishes and she'd just left the kitchen. I heard an almighty scream and ran into the living room. She has a little cut at the corner of her eye, I think she must have banged it on the toybox. I picked her up and sat down on the couch to comfort her and straight away she was sick all over the floor. It was horrible as she was almost choking on it. I bf her and she's snuggled on the couch watching night garden now. What do you think caused the vomiting? Could it be shock? I'm worried about her having a stomach bug now. She's 16 months btw.

I think you should phone your GP. You don't know exactly what happened and vomiting can be a sign of head injury.

Ok, will ring now. Feel so guilty

Don't feel guilty, my children have done similar things!

chipkid · 02/12/2008 15:24

don't beat yourself up-these things happen. I agree that you should get her seen due to the vomitting.

I'm on hold to gp now. thanks guys

been advised to take her to walk in centre as I'll get seen quicker. So off I go. Hope she's ok.

please don;t panic.

DD fell off our bed about 18 months ago and vomited everywhere, and as DH had given her blackcurrant, she threw up red and he thought it was blood.

i thikn it was the shock that made her throw up, she did not lose concsiousness and 40 minutes later was scooting round the kitchen on her trike!

anyhoo, she was fine, was advised to rouse her hourly through the night as she was fine after we had all calmed down. took her to GPs next day and she was absolutely fine

Wallace · 02/12/2008 15:31

Hope she's okay. Could very well have been the shock, fingers crossed xx

CharCharGaboriaInExcelsisDeo · 02/12/2008 15:32

Thanks lulumama. DD didn't lose consciousness either and she seems ok now. I'm going to take her just to be sure. Kicking myself now I thought she'd be ok.

Am sure she will be fine but it is worth getting her checked. Let us know how she is.

Well we're back. Thought a toddler with potential head injury would have been slight priority but no. She was the last person to be seen out of about 20. Ho hum, she's fine, just got to keep an eye on her for 24 hours. Now I've got to figure out how to get her to eat tea as she's exhausted. Thanks everyone for your advice.

I'm glad she's ok, sorry you had to wait though.

CharCharGaboriaInExcelsisDeo · 02/12/2008 19:42

Thanks belgo Am feeling a bit stressed and weepy now which is silly because she's fine. She's in bed now so hopefully she'll sleep for a little while.

glad to hear all is well. what a relief

belgo · 03/12/2008 10:54

It's normal to feel stressed and weepy after these accidents - my children have done so many similar things, we've had a few emergency trips to A&E. It takes a good few days for my heart rate to return to normal afterwards, but the grey hairs they've given me are here to stay!

CharCharGaboriaInExcelsisDeo · 03/12/2008 11:38

Thanks. All is well today although the little bugger decided to sleep through for the first time in about 13 months. Let's just say, I did not!
