Just had a phone call from DS1's school saying why is he at school when he had D&V yesterday and that he is complaining of stomach pains.

I explained it was Fri night/Sat morning he had D&V and only one episode and has been fine since.

So I picked him up and he seemed fine. I asked about his stomach pains and he said it was only a bit now. I said I'd take him to docs as he seems to have a lot of stomach pains (mainly when he doesn't want to do something).

He then changed his story to have a knee pain. He has mentioned this before but it seems very short-lived every time.

So I asked what I'd picked him up from school for? Was it because he was cold and didn't want to play outside? Because he didn't like a lesson he was due?

He said he just needs some sleep and went to bed.

So, do I question him further or worry about his knee pain or just leave things?

Thanks for any advice.

i would question it further but not in a you dont want to do anything kind of a way but your concerned and want to listen to anything he has to say

is he being bullied is he struggling etc and tell him maybe about your days at school and when you couldnt do something you spoke with your parents etc they helped so he can talk to you about anything that coming home cant be the answer can you help with anything

its a sensitive age so he may clam up if feeling critisized but just have a gentle talk maybe its hormonal maybe he is very tired maybe worth taking him to gp anyway for all over health check

but see if you can find out why he is unhappy with school with your own made up stories lol with answers

such as i was never good at matha nd everyone i thought was better than me i told my parents and they helped each night when i came home i soon was ahead ha ha that sort of thing or you never liked playing pe in the cold but it was better than going home as that was boring as your mum would send you to bed with no tea if came home ill and also no tv

my mum did things like this and it felt nice to have someone understand wel i thought she did she was just clever and always worried if i came home id have no tv and dinner as i was supposedly ill

maybe start doing that and may stop the coming home as nothing worth coming home to if no fun time and food
