Could be shock, just keep an eye on him and if he will let you put a cold wet cloth onto it see if it helps bruising a bit.

If you are worried try a and e again, did they see you or did they just leave you waiting?

If they saw you what did they say?

Poor little pickle, I am not suprised he is dazed.

Have you called NHS direct? They are very good. DD had this once when she smacked her head on a coffee table ear first, she had loose nappies, maybe it is the shock but I would check with NHS Direct to make sure it is not a symptom of concussion as he is very small. They told me how to check for all the symptoms of concussion. Their number is 0845 4647. If he sleeps more than 2 hours then make sure you can rouse him. Good luck, hope he feels better soon.

They don't necessarily have to have vomiting or be knocked to have concussion.

Watch out for him being more sleepy than usual and if he seems out of sorts or confused. The symptoms of concussion are not always apparent immediately. My dd was concussed earlier this year and it was only the next day when she felt the full effects of it.

Watch him closely.
