I'm afraid she's going to fit if her temp doesn't come down, can't manage to bribe her into having any calpol, etc. always had probs giving it to her, she had some at 11am now won't take any. Just wants to sleep and says "no medicine". How long to I let her go on like this, what can we do any techniques?? She's in a vest and nappy, keep trying to dampen her down with a flannel, will sip water, but no food recently. Phoned NHS direct, they'll get back to us within the hour. She's coughed up some foul phlegm stuff. worried.

Right, here's what happened.....

At about 9pm last night she was sick with this horrid green stuff with red bits in, when NHS Direct rang back at 10 they said because of this to take her to A&E, so we did, they we'ren't bothered about her sick but headlocked her and pinched her nose to get the medicine down in a syring - horrid but worked and i can do that now if i need to! Hasn't had her temp yet today, but is better in herself and had milk but no food. I think we should be on the mend now. Thanks, all. Flutterbye.

The syringe in cheeck never worked for us, just spat it out. I usually let them hold a sweet in they hand so they can pop it in straight away. It has always worked for us

Glad she is on the mend FB!

Not sure how old she is, but have a look at my DH's method (below). It really works! Worked again this morning.
