dd 2, very slim, but large tummy. Should I be concerned?

I noticed the other day, that her tummy seemed quite large, and epecially in the bath it seems to bulge at sides.

Is this normal, or is there something wrong. She is very slim, top percentile for height, 50th for weight, so I can't believe it is a bit of podge.

Or has she had it all her life, and I have just noticed it?

Completely normal for her age IME. To do with low stomach muscle tone typical of toddlers. If she is very distended, consider if she might be constipated. Just because she has a rounded tummy though and is slim, don't panic and assume she is malnourished, but you can always mention it to the HV or GP next home you see them, for reassurance. Hope this helps.

Toddler tummy, DD has it too. If you look at her side on, she probably sticks it out and you'll see her back curve at that point.

Its normal!

So long as its flatter in the morning than the evening, normal.

My DD is exactly the same. Think she takes after her dad

SO, it's normal then?

It's the fact that it just seemed to appear, that was a bit concerning
