what age do you teach them to use inhaler without spacer?

got a new spacer from gp last week. ds is 7 in jan.

Have not got a clue, I suppose its when lo can cope with it. Ds has a spacer, he's 3 though.

The inhalers we were given last time are the automatic ones that you don't need a spacer for. Instead of the old-style ones where you coordinate the spraying and breathing in, these ones are released as you breathe in so there's no need for a spacer.

Otherwise I would say that 6 is still too young to use the old style inhalers without a spacer. The technique you need can be difficult even for some adults.

the spacer is big to keep carrying round in mine or ds's bag

DS1 (just turned 8) had a new prescription for an inhaler last week - Dr checked I still had a space at home - so obviously still supposed to use one.
