Quick q about 5 month old with gunky eye

Ds has had a sticky eye for 3 days now, the latest of several bouts since he was born. I have been cleaning it out with water and cotton wool but it seems to be getting worse, both eyes are now pink and gunky and combined with a very snotty nose he has been very sad the last few days Is it worth a trip to the walk in centre tomorrow to get some drops or will it clear up on its own?

Are you breastfeeding? wiping with breastmilk always cleared this up for my litte one.

yes still bf, have tried the milk in the eye trick but has done no good
