What? Are some children permanently attached to them then?

I thought they would be thought of as an extension of using a straw which is encouraged in younger children to develop stronger muscles around the mouth and subsequently better speech control.

We are looking into helping our ds2 with his speech and mouth breathing into learning a wind instrument for the same reason.

something to do with the sucking/shaping of the mouth. Maybe I am wrong, but I am sure she was anti them.
