DD was sick last week with a temperature. That has now passed but over weekend she has come out with spots on her fact (one on her hand as well). She has had chickenpox (although it looks like that).

Today school sent her to the nurse who said it could be impetigo. i've looked online but the spots don't really resemble pictures. Should I ride it out for a few more days or take to doctor? My gut instinct is she's come out in spots due to all the chocolate and biscuits she's been eating as she didn't have an appetite for anything else!

Impetigo is usually more like sores than spots with a golden crust.

I had a horrific case of Impetigo when i was young, it was open sores huge ones not spots.

It can start out as spots. Sometimes the 'spot' stage lasts several days.
First time I had it I assumed it was just acne - when it started to weep I realised it was something else.

I would get it checked out asap because if it is impetigo the sooner she gets antibiotics the better

Also, impetigo is mega contagious!!!

Get to doc asap. Can last ages, so might need antibiotics as well as the cream. Good luck.

(and start boil washing all dd's bedding / towels etc asap so rest of family don't get it)
