When I'm being sick, provided I'm actually wanting to eat something, I choose things that taste OK coming back up again. Sorry, TMI, but if you're hungry and want to eat even if it comes back out, it does help! Sugar puffs are best. Not nutritionally great, but taste OK 2nd time! Bananas also v good, and are binding for upset digestion.
above all, obviously lots and lots of fluids for healing process during getting well, but also for dehydration while vomiting.
How old is he? Poor little thing

TooTicky · 12/11/2008 12:25

Avoid wheat and dairy as they will add to the congestion.

kitbit · 12/11/2008 12:25

Also, might be best to avoid dairy if he's very phlegmy? Someone with better medical knowledge than me might be best to confirm that one.
Oh - jelly also good - nice and soft on sore throat.

Soups are fantastic - especially home made chicken soup - really easy to make. Bananas, stewed apple, anything with a high water/ natural sugar/ sodium content which he will be loosing from the vomiting. Soups ae absorbed really quickly - how old is he?

Don't worry if he won't eat straightaway, but do make sure he's drinking plenty
