Please don't accuse me of being negligent - DD ate some cat litter yesterday

And vomited violently in the night.

By breakfast time she was fine, had kept down breastmilk by then and ate lots of toast. She's been bright and chirpy all day (and had two long naps to make up for being up half the night).

She is 14 months btw.

I realise it could be a tummy bug but part of me worries it was the cat litter. We thought it was inaccessible, and have now moved it. The cats rarely use it, and there was no poo or pee in it (it's that clumping wheat stuff) but obviously because you only flush the clumps not replace the whole lot, I realise there could have been nasty bacteria in there.

Would you be worried about anything more serious than the upset tummy, ie parasites? Should I ask the GP?

Do you worm your cats?

Would watch her and speak to the GP monday if she is ok and go to hospital if your worried over the weekend.

We worm our cats religiously.
They do 95% of their business in the garden, the cat litter is there for night emergencies and it's rare they use it.
I might call NHS direct or look at their website.
As I said, DD seems fine but I'm more worried about something like parasites that won't manifest itself immediately.
Thanks

I called nhs direct several times about ds who always seemed to find something he shouldn't have to play in. It will put your mind at rest.
