DS 12mths wet through every morning - babyDRY nappies?!

DS has been soaked every morning for the past week - he sleeps 7ish til 7ish. Is 12 hours too long for a nappy to cope or should I be worried? Grateful for any similar experiences..

what nappies are you using?

you should be OK IME with the pampers babydry ones or indeed tescos or boots ones.

I found babydry leaked. So had active fit ones. They never leaked.

TheLittleMermaid · 18/10/2008 08:12

Am using pampers babydry size 4 maxi. He's about 25lbs and these are 15-40lbs so I don't get it...

tbh I don't go on the weight bit, try going up to 5 - when DS wakes soaked with pampers I go up a size.

see active ones were no good for DS, it's really finding the ones which work.

i put mine in a nappy with a pullup on top for a while (at night). they got through so much water/milk at bedtime and overnight that a nappy alone would get so soaked it would fall off them. it was the sticky tape that used to come loose... i suppose some biggish pants over the top wouldve done pretty much the same job as the pullup didnt really seem to do much absorbing really.

god i dont miss nappy days! (i had 3 in them for a while there)

TheLittleMermaid · 18/10/2008 08:26

He has 8oz milk before bed but none overnight so not sure it's that he's drinking too much but will deffo try size 5. Just being a paranoid mum I guess...but it's all happened recently and I didn't want to to be health related e.g. diabetes. I know, I know... v paranoid.

tbh DS has 9oz milk still and drinks all day, (he's 2.5) I only really noticed this week he woke twice in the night, but one night he had about 15oz of milk and the nappy was an asda one (don't get them!!!)

alternative is to change his bum when you go into bed if you can do it and keep him asleep?

LadyLaGore · 18/10/2008 08:32

aw, dont worry.
i have no idea if it could be owt else... think you can ask doc or hv next time you see one - they dont mind! (ime)

fwiw - 8oz at bedtime is a fair old bit. i would expect a v wet nappy in the morning with that much

TheLittleMermaid · 18/10/2008 08:37

Ah thanks all! This is my first mn post and you've really put my mind at rest. Will try to stop being paranoid now.

don't worry most of us have been there.

i'm sure some babies just prefer to do more peeing at night.

I don't think many of us get thru the early years without questioning everything and worrying about the DC.
