DS just poked himself in the ear with a plastic toy pitchfork - do I need to take him to GPs?

He is obsessed with poking things in his ears at the moment! He has been putting pencils just inside so they stay there and he can walk around, but he just poked a tiny pitchfork in quite deep (pretty sure as he screamed and started crying). Could he have popped his eardrum or anything? He was OK after a min, but the thng is quite small so therefore probably sharp.

Just touching an ear drum hurts like mad so difficult to tell. An ear drum with a hole in it can heal up on it's own.

Just keep an eye out for any weeping or discharge and see the GP next week if you're worried?
