sludgy poo in 2 yr old's nappy

DS had a tummy upset about 6 weeks ago and since then his poo has been sludgy in texture - very unpleasant indeed. I took him to the doctor and she took a sample to be tested and the results came back with no obvious problems. I haven't been back to the doctor yet as he's not unwell as such, but surely something's not right. Anyone familiar with this?

DD's consultant told me that during a stomach bug viruses can cause some damage to the intestine by breaking off villi which can result in temporary lactose intolerance after the tummy bug seems to be over (until the villi grow back, which will happen usually within 2 months). In such cases avoiding dairy during this period can be recommended (but only after consulting with a dr). Perhaps the bad poo is related to this? Hopefully he'll be back to normal very soon.

Thanks for that advice - that makes sense. DS is mad for his milk and I wondered if there might be a link. I'll go to the Doctors again.
