is metanium still considered to be the best cream for nappy rash? ds2 has it baaaaaad

Tutter, that's good news. Just for future ref the second skin thing is called Cavilon and is a prescpription only apparently so would need to ask GP about it. Other thing which they use in the hospital is a 50/50 solution of yellow soft pariffin and liquid pariffin - you can get from chemist and you mix together equal quantities then apply with every nappy change - dh thinks you may be able to get it ready mixed but you'd need to ask, the nurses at his work just mix their own. Dh thinks best to start with the 50/50 solution then go on to Cavilon if really needed - apparently Cavilon can be stingy when applied so best to try the other stuff first. He would also say that metanium is good. HTH
